RE: PETITION SIGNATURES IN SUPPORT OF SENATE BILL 1405.
Dear Senate Local Government Committee Members:
My name is Theodore Heyck. Garin Vartanian and I are the editors of an online community newspaper called “Arrowhead Woods Informed” and homeowners in Lake Arrowhead, CA. We represent ourselves as well as a large segment of the Community of Arrowhead Woods located in Lake Arrowhead who have asked us to submit their letters (petitions) in support of the current version of Senate Bill 1405.
Several business organizations, who claimed to be “stakeholders”, stood to profit and supported an earlier version of SB-1405 which amended Government Code 61105. However, the actual and true “stakeholders”, the Community of the Arrowhead Woods, whose property was affected and who were liable for paying its costs and potential tax increases, were strongly against that amendment. Those true “stakeholders” are in support of the current SB-1405 which removes any participation, support and collaboration between the Lake Arrowhead Community Services (LACSD) and the Arrowhead Woods Architectural Committee (AWAC) relative to Government Code 61105.
In the brief period of four days and on short notice, we have collected the following 512 signatures in support of Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh’s current SB-1405 amending Government Code 61105, removing the previous language. We anticipate submitting additional signatures in support of the current SB-1405 until the noticed deadline of April 25th.
